Job Role Overview

An SEO (Search Engine Optimization) professional is responsible for improving a website’s visibility on search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo. Their primary goal is to increase organic traffic, enhance search engine rankings, and optimize overall website performance using technical, on-page, and off-page SEO strategies. They work closely with content writers, developers, and digital marketing teams to implement optimized solutions that boost search results and support business growth.


 Key Responsibilities

A. On-Page SEO

  • Conduct keyword research and integrate targeted keywords into website content.

  • Optimize meta titles, descriptions, header tags, and URLs.

  • Improve internal linking and ensure proper site architecture.

  • Optimize images, content formatting, mobile responsiveness, and page performance.

B. Off-Page SEO

  • Build high-quality backlinks using ethical link-building strategies.

  • Conduct outreach campaigns to secure guest posts and mentions.

  • Monitor backlink profiles and disavow harmful links.

C. Technical SEO

  • Improve website speed, mobile optimization, and Core Web Vitals.

  • Handle site audits, crawlability, indexing, sitemap optimization, and robots.txt.

  • Fix broken links, duplicate content issues, and structured data errors.

D. Content Optimization

  • Collaborate with content writers to create SEO-friendly blogs, landing pages, and web pages.

  • Optimize content based on search intent and user experience.

  • Update old content to improve rankings.

E. Analytics & Reporting

  • Track website performance using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEMrush.

  • Generate weekly/monthly SEO reports and track KPIs such as impressions, clicks, CTR, and conversions.

  • Analyze competitors and suggest improvements.


Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors.

  • Expertise in keyword research tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Ubersuggest, etc.)

  • Knowledge of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO practices.

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic website technologies.

  • Analytical thinking and experience with reporting dashboards.

  • Strong communication and strategic planning skills.
